Need help picking out a car for my journey

My plans are to drive the 10,000 miles to Antarctica. I'm planning to buy a different car early next year. I want a 4 wheel drive, 4 door, 6 cylinder, 95-98 with a SUV body type. But what make and model would be the most reliable?

I would like to have some input on just what kind of car would be best for me to use on this journey. Can you help? If you have visited Central or South America recently or are living there now, your advice is very welcome.

  1. Toyota land cruiser is the vehicle for 3rd world travel. It's tough and rugged and most importantly the parts are available everywhere and every mechanic knows how to fix them.
